Access and transport

Carleton-sur-Mer is located 800 km from Montreal (about 10 hours drive) and 580 km from Quebec City (about 7.5 hours drive). Other airports exist in the “vicinities”, but the airfaires might be more costly due to the necessity to transit through Montreal or Toronto. However, you can consider landing in Moncton, New Brunswick (383 km from Carleton-sur-Mer), which is 5 h drive, or in Bathurst (167 km from Carleton-sur-Mer) at 2.5 h drive, or even in the small Bonaventure airport at only 1.5 h drive. If you choose of the two latest options, be sure to ask about the possibility to transport a great amount of luggage, as we are talking about very small planes.

At some point during the race, you will have to camp and make your own meals. However, you will pass through villages where it will be possible to buy food.

A section of the Camping de Carleton-sur-Mer is available for assistants, media and athletes (families are not allowed) from Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 September 2019 (except for the two mandatory nights in a bivouac, on 13 and 14 September). You must reserve your place by email with the RIG Coordinator at by providing the following information: the name of the team, the names of the people sleeping at the campsite and their phone numbers.

For more information on accommodation before and/or after the race, you can visit the Tourisme Baie-des-Chaleurs or Tourisme Gaspésie websites, or you can also contact our partner, Manoir Belle Plage.
